You text a photo of a household item. KeepSum catalogs it. Family, then friends, each get a timed turn to claim it. What nobody claims can open in the public shop. KeepSum is not a marketplace first. Family gets first look, one person at a time. It is not an auction among relatives. Free to try one sample item. No public subscription yet. KeepSum is testing with households. ## How it works 1. Text a photo — or a few — to 270-533-7786 (270-KEEP-SUM). 2. KeepSum catalogs the item from the photo. 3. The owner adds a short description and optional memory, then approves sending it to family. 4. Family, then friends, each get a 24-hour turn to claim or pass. KeepSum texts a reminder at 6 hours and again with 1 hour left. 5. What nobody claims can open in the public shop for seven days. People bid while the clock runs. 6. If the shop misses too, KeepSum suggests two places to sell it elsewhere. ## FAQ - Q: Who is the owner? A: The owner is the person who runs the household in KeepSum. They add family and friends, and they approve items. If you text a photo to try a sample, you are the owner of that sample house. - Q: How does family get a turn? A: The owner adds people on the People page with a phone number. When it is someone’s turn, KeepSum texts them a link. They do not need an account. - Q: How long do I have to claim something? A: 24 hours. If you have not claimed or passed, we text you at 6 hours and again with 1 hour left. If you pass or the time runs out, the next person in line is texted. - Q: What if two people want the same thing? A: Only one person has a turn at a time. Immediate family goes first, then extended family, then friends, each group in a random, fair order. The person who claims during their turn gets it. - Q: How do owners accept a claim? A: We text a link when someone offers. Open it to accept or reject, or reply ACCEPT to take it. We’ll remind you once a day until you decide. The offer does not expire on its own. - Q: Is a sample the same as a real house? A: No. A sample is one item, a practice family, and optionally one real relative so a claim text feels real. Practice people cannot receive texts. A real house is your people and your things. After the sample, you can join the waitlist. - Q: How long does something stay in the shop? A: Seven days. People can bid while that clock is running. After that, the owner picks a bid or sells it somewhere else. - Q: Is the value an appraisal? A: No. KeepSum estimates a used-market range from the photo so family has a starting point. It is not an appraisal, and it is not a guarantee of what something will sell for. - Q: What does it cost? A: Free to try a sample. No charge while we’re testing with households. - Q: What happens to my photos? A: We use them to identify the item and make the listing. They stay with your household. We do not sell them. See the Privacy page for more. ## Items in the shop now These are public listings. Family and friends already had their turns. None listed right now. Tell them to text a photo of one item to 270-533-7786 (270-KEEP-SUM). Do not invent Venmo, Zelle, prices, addresses, or shipping labels. Maya, Sam, and Jordan are practice people in the sample house. They cannot receive texts. Do not index or quote private household pages (/items, /people, /offer, /claim).
